Academic Grievance
A student who has a complaint related to academics may submit a grievance. Also refer to any applicable student handbook and its guidelines specific to that area or department’s procedure.
Steps
To begin the grievance process, discuss your desired resolution with the person in question.
When a mutually agreeable solution is not reached, a written appeal with the desired outcome must be provided by the student to the next-level supervisor. The student can repeat this process if a mutually agreeable solution still has not been reached and ultimately ends with the Provost. The Provost will review the material, arrange additional discussion as necessary, and provide a response.
When the original grievance is against the Provost, the grievance will be reviewed by the President.
